ROCKZION RECORDS HOME
OCEAN'S FIVE SITE
Massimo Bianchi's interview in
California
Let's start from the title, Lauderdale By The Sea, why ?
M: Lauderdale by the Sea is a lil village in Florida, close to Miami,
i've been there for my summer holidays in 2008, it's a wonderful place.
The atmosphere of that place, its palms, its tropical climate and
people I have met there gave me emotions and i turned them into
music.
How is the album promotion going in the U.S.?
M: IMRadio in Chicago is broadcasting Oceanic Sensation and The Story
Of Our Life daily on a daily basis since 4 months, Pop Garden
Radio in Florida plays Oceanic Sensation and we are really
proud we had the possiblilty to rework the album album in Los
Angeles so we have the American version of Lauderdale by the sea
plus a promotion made by Rockzion Records through aradio.
I want to thank , in the name of the band,Dennis Renick for the great
job he did with the tracks.
By the way we keep our feet down to ground , everyone in the band
continues to do its job couse we know there is still a lot to do
and we can't live of music rightnow
What is about Oceanic Sensation and The Story Of Our Life?
M: The first one describes my stay in Lauderdale by the sea - Florida
and the emotions I felt ,Oceanic Sensation is a rock song very american
sound. The second one, Story of our life is a ballad and speaks
of a very important and lovely period of my life.
What is the reletionship between the band members?
M: Great friendship with Giovanni (keyboard player) we grew up
together, I know him since 1986, he is my best collaborator.Giovanni is
, with me, one of the leaders of Ocean's 5, he helps me a lot
coming upwith great ideas for arrangements everytime i write a
song he really has a non common talent in this.
Me and Giovanni played together for years in a hard rock band
called "Aphasia" writing our own songs and also performing as
Europe cover band during Europe fans conventions and playing with
John Leven and Ian Haugland former members of the band Europe.
Nino, although don't see him often couse he lives in another town
,Naples, there's ten-year friendship and collaboration with him, I met
him in 1999 in Stockholm-Sweden, but twhat made our friendship
closer was in 2001 when we were both called to live perform in
Milan with Mic Michaeli, John Leven, Ian Haugland (respectively former
keyboardist, bassist and drummer of the band Europe).
Michele is friend from my childwood, we started playing together in one
of my first bands, Cristian is a childwood friend aswell
and we've been class mates in high school .
Patrick is a friend since ten years, lives in Rome and occasionally
gives his beautiful voice to our songs.
What are you currently doing?
M:I am working with Giovanni on the arrangements of the new songs i
I've written this summer since my stay in New York.
Is travel that important for you to write? Can you tell us
one of the new songs title ?
M: Essential i would say, in New York i chrystalized moments, feelings
that have generated sounds, tunes ... and threw down a text that
i put on paper once in hotel.
One song is called "Lookin to the Hudson."
The U.S. influences u so much, isn't it?
M:The U.S. is a country that I love so much, I love your culture and
the American people and there are incredible music talents in usa
one for all ... Jon Bon Jovi, lately I've also discovered talents
such as One Republic, they have a more pop sound but still very good .
Are you planning to go back to usa soon?
M: Probably i will go toCalifornia and Florida in 2010 for
Lauderdale By The Sea
What do you expect from music?
M: Fun and passion , this is enough for us at the moment, we play
because we like to do it, because we are friends. And if our music give
sa smile or any emotion we are happy and proud.
So good luck!
M: Thank you,
